A company with history

Sirva AS, formerly known as Team Relocations AS and Majortrans Flytteservice AS, has been providing professional moving services since 1937. Our origins are traced back to the company Majorstubudene, established by Birger Strand and Gerhard Hauschild. The journey from 1937 up until today has included numerous changes, acquisitions, and mergers, and we have grown from a small local business into becoming Norway’s representative for the world’s largest moving and relocation company.

Continuously evolving

In Norway, the company changed its name to Majorstua Transportbyrå in 1945, and to Majortrans Norge AS in 1982. After a merger with Frogner International AS, we changed our name again in 1993, this time to Majortrans Frogner AS. At the same time, we merged into Scanvan Group AB, becoming the largest moving conglomerate in the Nordic region. In 2002, the name was changed to Majortrans Flytteservice, following a merger with Flytte Service AS in Stavanger.

Looking forward

Our strong position in Norway led to the European conglomerate Team Relocations acquiring Majortrans Flytteservice AS in 2007. In Norway, we continued to operate as Majortrans for a few years, however in 2011; we changed our name to Team Relocations AS. Our global presence was further strengthened in 2018 when the leading global company SIRVA Inc. chose to acquire the entire Team Relocations group to enhance its position in Europe. Today, we are a part of a global conglomerate with 4,954 employees, operating in over 190 countries

In Norway, we have taken the position as the country’s largest company for integrated moving- and relocation services. We aim to be the best, most innovative, and professional moving and Relocation Company, and our goal is always to be the customer’s first choice.
